Today, we will actually purchase a subscription to PowerDirector, our video editing software. I will also show you how to set it up after purchase, if you don’t know how to do that.
It looks like there are two types of subscriptions for individuals at this time. I used to use PowerDirector 17, which I bought outright, and mainly created YouTube videos. I recently purchased a new PC and felt uncomfortable installing the old software, so I decided to purchase a subscription. The names are PowerDirector 365 and Director Suite 365, the latter being more expensive. The former does not come with PhotoDirector, AudioDirector, or ColorDirector. However, as we will explain later, simplified versions of these are available.
The only other thing I would mention is that there is no unlimited access to material. Therefore, we have decided that PowerDirector 365 is sufficient for our needs, so we purchase it.
Click the “Buy” button to proceed. I already have a CyberLink account, so I enter my e-mail address and proceed.
I chose a 12-month plan instead of a monthly subscription plan. If there are no mistakes, proceed to the order process.
On the next page, you enter your address, name, and payment method. I chose credit card. Finally, I confirm the order. This may take a little time due to the collation process.
After completing the purchase, log in to the member site and install the software.
Click on Account Information to view your subscriptions and purchased software.
Click on “Update to Latest Version” for PowerDirector 365, which you purchased earlier, and you will be taken to a page where you can download CyberLink Application Manager. Download and install the software. After installation, log in to the application and you will see a list of software that can be installed.
